How It Works

Rent&Dent is a simple, user friendly App that makes it easy for you to protect yourself against false claims when renting a car.
In only 3 simple steps, the App walks you through the process of registering the rented car, acquiring the required images and automatically detecting all dents and damages to the car. Here’s how it works…

Car rental horror stories, sounds familiar?

No damages, a full tank of gas, and a $1191.15 charge to my credit card bill, got me black-listed from a large international car rental company

During a business trip to Switzerland, I rented a car for 5 days. As I was on an early AM flight home, I left the car at a designated spot for off-hour returns and dropped off the keys and documents in a lock box, according to XX representative's instructions. 10 days later I got a $1191.15 charge on my credit card. I called the XX Zurich office, and they said the charge was the result of damage to the car and a refueling charge. As there was absolutely no damage to the car and I left a full tank of gas (for which I still have the receipt), and since XX were reluctant to send me proof of damage, I opened a dispute with the credit card company. Months later, dozens of phone calls, emails and wasted time and energy, I was reimbursed, but also black listed by XX's. I have learnt my lesson, and I now document and save 'before' and 'after' shots of all the cars I rent.

An 'all clear' upon return, with a 220 Euro damage charge two weeks after leaving the country, left us with no means of disputing the wrongful claim and extra charge

We rented a car for 6 days at the Frankfurt Airport and returned it in the same condition. There was no damage to the car. We had no accidents during the rental period. When we returned the car, a YY employee checked it thoroughly and said there was no extra charge. Two weeks later we received a notice in the mail letting us know we were being charged 220 Euros for damages. This was plainly a false claims case, taking advantage of the fact we had already left the country, and unfortunately had no documentation of the car's condition… lesson learnt!

Nearly missed an expensive 5 passenger flight home due to car lot dispute over wrongful accusations

Before flying out of JFK airport, on our way home to Sydney, we dropped off the car we had rented for the holiday at the ZZ lot. The car's rear bumper had some damage which was clearly documentation during the rental process. Despite the clear description included in the documentation, the ZZ employee responsible for checking the car upon return, insisted this was not the same defect, and claimed we had caused further damage to the car. Unfortunately, we had no photos to prove otherwise, and it was our word against his… and boy, were many words said… So many in fact, that we were minutes from missing an expensive 5 passenger flight from NY to Sydney. Needless to say the matter was not resolved and we are still wasting precious resources battling this ridiculous false claim. Such a shame our holiday had to end on such an unfortunate note.
